The aim of this site is to feature Hereford United related news and match reports from 1990 to 2002. At present the content is very limited for the early years but from 1997 there is more information, much of which was originally published on Peter Povall's HUFC site and Terry Goodwin's www.hu-fc.co.uk site. July 97

July 5th:

FORMER Sky Blues striker John Williams, now with non-league Hereford United, has flown to Vienna to have talks with an unnamed Austrian club.

Hereford boss Graham Turner said: "I shall be seeing Williams when he returns on Monday."

July 9th:

DEREK Mountfield (defender) Walsall to Hereford (free).

July 12th:

DEREK Mountfield is staying at Walsall as player-coach to manager Jan Sorensen, calling off his switch to the Vauxhall Conference club Hereford.

Striker John Williams has decided to join Walsall.

July 17th:

HUISA (Hereford United Independent Supporters Association) recently held a fans forum.

Manager Graham Turner revealed that he only had £40,000 left in the annual salary budget for players.

The current agreed squad is: DeBont, Mackenzie (non-Contract), Norts, Matthewson, Brough, Fishlock, Pitman, Mahon, McGorry, Ian Foster, Jordan, Agana plus Cook and Warner.

The youth team was costing £70 to 80K per season and was committed for this season.

An open day will be held on Sunday 3rd August. The new away shirt (a red/black quartered design), will hopefully be available for sale on the day, as will a new range of T-shirts, proclaiming amongst other things that the Bulls are only on temporary loan to the Conference.

July 29th:

Gloucester City 1 Hereford United 4 (FSF)

Ian Foster was the hero for the Bulls in this pre-season friendly. He scored three and created a fourth for Neil Grayson. It could have been five but for a missed penalty by Grayson.
